Reflection
TS 6 Telecommunications and Information Access: The competent teacher will use telecommunications and information -access resources to support instruction.
The artifact that I have chosen for this technology standard is my Annotated Bibliography that I created in my Clinical Experiences class. I chose this artifact because it represents my knowledge of how to use web browsers, as stated necessary in the performance indicator, “uses electronic mail and web browser applications for communications and for research to support instruction.” This artifact also demonstrates the performance standard “uses automated, on-line search tools and intelligent agents to identify and index desired information resources” because I was required to use search tools and identify web pages that met the criteria for suitable biology resources.
This document demonstrates my development as a teacher I believe because it shows that I am very capable of using the internet for educational purposes and not just for chatting with my friends. It shows that I can use the internet as a tool to help my students understand the material I give them better, and also help myself give my future students a more invigorating learning environment and experience.
